Multi-azimuth velocity estimation

چکیده
It is well known that the inverse problem of estimating interval velocities from reflection data is poorly constrained in 2-D. We show that the interval velocity estimation problem in 3-D is much better constrained when the velocity function is estimated by jointly inverting the data collected along multiple offset-azimuth, even when the azimuth range is fairly limited. We extend to 3-D the linear operator presented by (Toldi, 1985) for relating stacking velocities with interval velocities. We then apply a Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) analysis to the derived operator. This analysis suggests that methods that take advantage of the azimuth range in the data should yield better velocity functions than currently used velocity estimation methods that neglect the additional information provided by multi-azimuth coverage.

Optimal Estimation of Sensor Biases for Asynchronous Multi-Sensor Registration
An important step in the asynchronous multi-sensor registration problem is to estimate sensor range and azimuth biases from their noisy asynchronous measurements. The estimation problem is generally very challenging due to highly nonlinear transformation between the global and local coordinate systems as well as measurement asynchrony from different sensors. In this paper, we propose a novel no...
متن کاملGround Moving Targets Detection and Parameter Estimation for Multi-channel SAR systems
Ground moving targets detection, imaging, positioning and motion parameter estimation in SAR has attracted the attention of many researchers all over the world. The author introduces a robust moving targets detection and parameter estimation approach for multi-channel SAR system which requires three consecutive operations in the following. Firstly, array calibration has been done among spatial ...
متن کاملDetection and Focused Imaging of Moving Objects Evaluating a Sequence of Single–look Sar Images *
In multilook synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images moving objects appear defocused when their azimuth velocity component is non–zero. Therefore, they are difficult to detect in such images unless the azimuth velocity component has been compensated. Here, a method for detection of arbitrarily moving ground–based objects and for estimation and compensation of the azimuth velocity component is pre...
متن کاملPosition Estimation of Moving Vehicles for Space-based Multi-channel SAR/MTI Systems
Ground moving target indication (GMTI) by a space-based radar system can be obtained by a multi-subaperture / multichannel radar system or a satellite cluster. The simplest approach with the receiving antenna split into two halves and most popular in the SAR community is to use the technique of along-track interferometry (ATI) to recognize moving objects. Caused by the ambiguity between radial ...
متن کاملMoving Target Detection and Trajectory Estimation Using SAR Data
Conventional Synthetic Aperture Radar processing leads to moving targets being imaged displaced from their real positions and blurred. This is mainly due to the used reference phase no longer being valid, including an additional Doppler-shift and a Doppler-spread. Since these effects are not considered in the focusing algorithm, the resulting SAR image shows the moving targets defocused and/or ...
